This article is mainly about what to wear while traveling. It does not necessarily mean what you should wear when you arrive at your destination. However, some of the tips mentioned here are useful and universal, so you can definitely use them. Here are some hard and fast rules to get you started.

In my last post I talked about fashion tips for women over 60 and today I’m going to focus on travel outfits. When you pack light, a good jacket is a must. We recommend tailoring it and choosing neutral colors (black, white, navy blue, beige) to match the rest of your outfit. Three-quarter length sleeves are also recommended. It keeps the jacket fresh and sophisticated without giving it an “office” feel.

The outfit pictured below is a nice option for women on the go. Black straight leg trousers that fall just below the ankle are not only comfortable to wear, they are also versatile and can be combined with many other outfits while travelling.

Pair it with a black top, your favorite tailored jacket (we think black and white is stylish), and add a cute scarf to pull the look together. Last but not least, we’d like to introduce you to some simple neutral sandals. Elevate your ensemble with classic makeup, a great shade of lipstick and painted nails.

For trips that don’t require a lot of travel time, heels can be surprisingly stylish. However, heels are not practical or comfortable to wear for long periods of time, so I recommend wearing them only for short trips (as I’m sure you can attest). This classic ensemble is perfect for short trips by train or plane.

Once again, you can see the versatility of plain black pants. You can enjoy different coordinations just by changing the jacket and accessories. (You can also customize this look by swapping out the heels for flats to make it more suitable for longer walks.)

We recommend incorporating color into your look whenever possible. If you’re still not sure, research which colors suit your skin best. The darker the skin tone, the lighter colors you can wear. People with light skin types may need to try different shades to avoid looking washed out.
