Fashion Blogs For Women Over 50 – If you’re into fashion at all, you probably know that this month was New York Fashion Week. The show is held twice a year, Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter. There are four main locations for these events, New York, London, Milan and Paris. Designers come to these events to showcase their upcoming fashion lines. Celebrities flock to these events to be seen and show off their fashion sense. And fashion bloggers come to these events to blog about designers, stars, styles and promote their blogs.

If you have watched any of the videos or read any of those blogs, you would think that everyone dresses like this. Really??? Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t see a time when I’ll probably wear 80-90 percent of those styles. Not everyone attends red carpet events or gets invited to an A-lister party. So what should the rest of us wear?

I’m over 50, live in a small town and am a bit of a computer whiz. So why would I start a fashion blog? I decided to start a blog with the outfits I wear every day. I know there is nothing new in this concept. There are hundreds of fashion blogs out there and my shopping options are limited because of where I live. Cato’s, Rue 21 and Peebles are the only clothing stores in my small town. Any other store is a 2 hour drive and even then you are limited. You learn very quickly to work with what you have. Does that mean you don’t look good? Absolutely not!

I love watching J’s Everyday Fashions; It’s probably the first fashion blog I started following. She always looks so beautiful, but she’s also very small, and her clothes are a little too small for me. If you have the legs for short dresses, then wear what makes you happy, but I prefer a slightly longer style. Jo-Lynn Shane was one of my inspirations to dive into the world of fashion blogging. Clothing for everyday life, which is what most of us do. We go to work, take care of children, cook dinner, in other words, we are normal women.

I don’t foresee New York, London, Milan or Paris in the future, but that’s fine with me. I appreciate you stopping by and would love to hear your comments. Dori Jacobson, 82, is a former Playboy Bunny turned fashion blogger living in Las Vegas. www.seniorstylebible.com

This is a historic solution for a historic generation.”

My name is Shannon Mann from Oysters to Pearls, a fashion and lifestyle blog. My love for fashion fueled my passion to inspire other women to be comfortable in their own skin, dress for success and live their best life!

As a middle-aged influencer, I get asked a lot of questions about age-appropriate fashion. We are definitely a “youth obsessed” culture, so we need to be careful not to let this fuel our desire to “dress young”, which can sometimes backfire.

This is the elegant and timeless goal of the season! Do you cringe when you think of something you wore in your younger years? I think we all probably learned that lesson the hard way, but when we hit our fifties we know what we like and we figure out what works for us. We are comfortable in our own skin.

When asked about my personal style journey I would say that it has evolved over the years. As we mature as women, I believe our style also matures. As a woman in my fifties, I lean towards a more classic look that includes timeless and sophisticated tailored pieces, structured bags, simple jewelry and heels (always heels).

4. A good pair of jeans that fit perfectly and look classy. You are never too old for jeans. For a dressier look, choose dark denim and add a trench coat for a smart smart look.

5. A pencil skirt is an iconic and timeless piece that can be worn with a beautifully textured cardigan for added dimension.

When she’s not dreaming up new material, you can find her watching funny TV shows with her husband, raising her two boys, or planning her next trip to Paris. Before we share our picks for the best fashion blogs for women over 50, we think it’s worth explaining our mission. It was conceived as a response to the world of publications aimed at women in their 20s and 30s – women just starting their careers and finding their way in life, experimenting with fashion and trends. Which fashion designers shamelessly market themselves. At PRIME, we want to acknowledge and celebrate a fact that other publications conveniently overlook: Generation Prime Women spend $400 million more annually on consumer goods and services than any other generation. He is smart, successful and smart. She has the financial stability to travel, invest and be selective in her purchasing power.

Prime Woman is also modern. She wants to dress for the body she has and is discriminating in her taste. We created Prime Shop to serve these women, our readers and our subscribers. You can find fashion specifically focused on our ageless generation, like the all black pieces you need in your wardrobe and the most flattering jeans for our figures. Some fashion designers also seem to recognize the potential influence of mature women and over 50 fashion is a market they cannot afford to ignore.

In the not too distant past, designers made more efforts to accommodate multiple generations on the catwalk. With top designers joining the cause, it’s no wonder that many savvy 50+ women have taken up the fashion baton and created blogs that rival the popularity of fashionistas in their 20s and 30s.

We want to celebrate some of the bloggers who inspire Prime Women. These women are dynamic, fearless and fabulous. And their award-winning fashion blogs are changing the way we look
